Over-The-Counter (OTC) Medications That Are Safe During Pregnancy

  • Regular or Extra-Strength Tylenol
  • Regular or LA Sudafed, Tylenol Cold and Sinus, Claritin, or Benadryl Cold & Allergy (for congestion - please call us if no relief within 72 hours)
  • Robitussin DM or Vicks 44-D (for cough)
  • Maalox, Mylanta, Turns, Rolaids, Pepcid AC, Prilosec OTC, or Zantac (for heartburn, indigestion, or "acid stomach")
  • Milk of Magnesia (for constipation)
  • Throat Lozenges
  • Imodium AD or Kaopectate (for diarrhea - followed by a clear liquid diet for 24 hours)
  • Monistat 1, 3, or 7 day (inserted gently for yeast infections)
  • Unisom 1 at bedtime; 2 in the A.M. (for nausea)
  • Stool Softeners (docusate sodium)

You may use hair coloring, self tanning lotions, or get a perm AFTER 12 WEEKS, but keep in mind that with hormonal changes in your body, these may not give you the desired effect.
